Keeping your contacts database clean, complete, and up to date is crucial for effective customer relationship management. Odoo’s Partner Autocomplete feature helps you do just that—automatically enriching company contact details with verified corporate data like business name, logo, industry, revenue, technologies used, and more.

Step-by-Step Instructions

 

  1. Activate Partner Autocomplete

To start using partner autocomplete:

  • Go to the Settings app.
  • Scroll down to the Contacts section.
  • Tick the checkbox for Partner Autocomplete.
  • Click Save.

 

You’ll now be able to access enriched company information when adding new contacts.

 

✅ 2. Add a New Company Contact

  • In any Odoo module (e.g., CRM, Sales), go to create a new contact.
  • In the Customer field (technically partner_id), begin typing the name of the company.
  • Odoo will suggest company names from its autocomplete database in a dropdown list.
  • Click on the correct match, and the contact will automatically fill with detailed company information, including:
    • Full business name and logo
    • Sector/industry
    • Year founded
    • Number of employees
    • Estimated revenue
    • Social media accounts
    • Contact details (phone number, website)
    • Timezone
    • Technologies used

 

⚠️ Important: If the company already exists in your Contacts app, you cannot enrich it again using autocomplete.

 

✅ 3. Use VAT Number Instead

  • Alternatively, enter a valid VAT number to search and autofill company information.
  • Odoo will match it against known business records.

✅ 4. Purchase Credits for Autocomplete (If Needed)

Partner Autocomplete is an In-App Purchase (IAP) service. Each autocomplete request uses 1 credit.

To buy credits:

  • Go to Settings > Contacts section.
  • Click Buy credits next to Partner Autocomplete
    or
    Click View My Services under Odoo IAP to manage your subscriptions.

⚠️ If you run out of credits, only the company’s logo and website will populate.
