Tips

  • Check server details beforehand

Your provider’s support pages (e.g. Gmail POP settings or Outlook SMTP instructions) will give accurate info.

  • Use app-specific passwords

If two‑factor authentication is enabled, standard passwords won’t work. Generate one from your email security settings.

  • Leave messages on server when using multiple devices

For Gmail and other services, keep this option checked and use the ‘recent:’ prefix to avoid missing emails.

  • Only one POP mailbox can be active at a time

If you add more than one, ensure you choose the correct one to avoid conflicts.

  • Want real-time sync or multi-device access?

Consider using IMAP instead for two-way sync—find more info on configuring IMAP in Zoho Mail’s POP/IMAP settings.
